Fire and Emergency Medical Services
The North Lawrence Fire Department is a combination department made up off full time, part time, PRN and volunteers. The station is staffed full time and answer's between 700 and 750 calls a year with annual increases. Three full time shifts fill the schedule to provide complete ALS coverage for the coverage area. The traditional 24 on and 48 off is followed with the use of A-Shift, B-Shift and C-Shift. Each shift has a fire officer or a designated Officer in Charge (OIC).
Search and Rescue Team
The North Lawrence Search and Rescue Team (SAR) is a team of specialized individuals that are trained in all terrain search and rescue. Members are trained by the National Association of Search and Rescue and are able to deploy for resources to a local agency within one hour.
The team utilizes specialized equipment such as side by sides, search dogs, search teams and other specialized equipment.
The team also utilizes its full span of medical control offering Advanced Life Support.
SAR FAST
The North Lawrence Forward Advanced Search Team (FAST) is a special operations team within the SAR Division. It is composed of advanced trained individuals that are able to deploy into remote areas to assist with search and rescue, damage survey, recovery and providing critical supplies to those in need.

Each member has all the same training as a SAR member but also holds training in ropes and specialized rescue.

The FAST team is designed to be deployed and placed in either staging or assignment either prior to an incident or after within 48 hours.
